Tulsa, Oklahoma — A 65-year-old grandfather died after a head-on collision involving a Corvette allegedly driven the wrong way down a highway off-ramp by an intoxicated driver following a night out at a casino, according to reports and court records.
Angelo Lacirignola, 43, has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the crash that killed Fredie Hunter. The collision occurred on September 5 along an Interstate 244 off-ramp in Tulsa County, where investigators say Lacirignola drove toward Hunter in the wrong direction and struck his vehicle head-on.
Hunter suffered severe injuries and spent 25 days in an intensive care unit before he died, according to local media reports. His death has left his family mourning a loved one they remember as a devoted father and grandfather.
What Happened in the Fatal Tulsa Crash?
According to reports, Hunter was driving down an off-ramp on I-244 when Lacirignola allegedly approached from the wrong direction.
The two vehicles collided head-on, leaving both drivers injured. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported Hunter to a hospital for treatment. Lacirignola was also injured and taken to a hospital before he was later booked into jail.
A fundraising page established for Hunter described the extent of his injuries, saying he “suffered a broken back, a traumatic brain injury with brain damage, and a long list of other serious injuries.”
Hunter remained in intensive care for 25 days before he died from his injuries, according to the reports.
Lacirignola is now facing a second-degree murder charge, according to Tulsa County court records. The charge represents an allegation, and the case will proceed through the criminal court system.
Reports Detail Night Out Before the Collision
Investigators are examining the events leading up to the crash, including the driver’s reported activities earlier that evening. According to reports, citing the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the Corvette involved in the collision belonged to another person.
The vehicle’s owner reportedly said Lacirignola had been at a Tulsa casino for a “boys night” before the crash.
Investigators also apparently spoke with another person who had been with Lacirignola that night. That individual reportedly said the group went to a bar, played pool and “drank a lot.”
When law enforcement caught up with Lacirignola after the collision, his reported blood alcohol concentration was 0.22, according to the account provided in the reports. That level is nearly three times Oklahoma’s standard legal limit of 0.08 for most adult drivers.
The reported alcohol level and the circumstances surrounding the wrong-way collision are among the details associated with the criminal case.
Daughter Remembers Her Father as a Loving Grandfather
As the legal case moves forward, Hunter’s family is left coping with his death and remembering the role he played in their lives.
His daughter, Kodye Geeding, spoke to local news outlet about the loss and the lasting impact on the family, particularly her 10-year-old child, who shared a close bond with Hunter.
“I just pray he didn’t see it coming,” Geeding told.
She continued by describing her father as a devoted family member and friend.
“He was a great dad, he was a great friend, he was even a better G-Pa … My 10-year-old and him were so close. I don’t know if anyone in the world is getting hit harder than her.”

Her comments reflect the personal toll of the crash beyond the criminal proceedings. For Hunter’s family, his death means losing someone whose presence was deeply woven into their everyday lives.
Court Proceedings Expected to Continue in November
Lacirignola’s case is moving through the Oklahoma court system following the fatal collision.
According to the information provided in the reports, a preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 18. The hearing is expected to be part of the process through which the court considers the case and determines the next steps.
The second-degree murder charge remains an allegation unless and until it is established through the legal process. Further court proceedings may provide additional information about the evidence, the circumstances of the collision and the case against Lacirignola.
The crash serves as a reminder of the potentially devastating consequences of driving while impaired, particularly when a vehicle enters a highway ramp in the wrong direction.
