The Peninsula SPCA’s Fur Ball returns for its 15th year on March 4 to celebrate their 85-year anniversary! Tickets for the 2023 Fur Ball are on sale now and are available on-line. Tickets will be available until Feb. 24.
This year, PSPCA is excited to join our guests for an exclusive celebration of 85 years of love for animals with evening of cocktails, fine dining, dancing the night away with local band Snackbar Jones, and spectacular live and silent auctions with mobile bidding, all to raise critical support for the pets and programs of the Peninsula SPCA.
Fur Ball is truly unique because our guests are encouraged to bring their pets! Pet guests will be treated like royalty with the option to receive their own personal escort, unlimited trips to the Muttini Bar, and the ability to participate in the anticipated Pet Parade. This year, pet-friendly overnight accommodations are available at Embassy Suites by Hilton Hampton Convention Center, conveniently located adjacent to the Hampton Roads Convention Center at a special discounted rate. This discounted rate for overnight accommodations is only available until Feb. 17.
“We are so excited to celebrate our 15th annual Fur Ball with the community we have served for 85 years. Fur Ball is a fun event, but it also provides much needed support for the pets and programs of the Peninsula SPCA. Funds raised at Fur Ball are important to the shelter and we are so humbled by the community’s response each and every year.” said Megan Steele, Executive Director.
The 2023 Full Ball spokes-pet is Mr. Dupre, owned and adored by Dr. Kian Kaz and Mr. Don Brown, who is excited to welcome guests to an evening dedicated to his fellow animal friends.

The Peninsula SPCA is a private, non-profit, “Adoption Guarantee” or “no-kill” shelter that devotes its time and resources to finding forever homes for the animals in their care, and to providing educational opportunities for the residents of the Peninsula. In the past year, the Peninsula SPCA has saved over 1,100 lives, performed more than 1,200 spay/neuter surgeries, and vaccinated more than 1,300 pets. In addition, PSPCA has expanded their humane education offerings, reaching over 5,000 students and families in 2022. The organization receives no public funding, relying on the leaders and businesses of the community to partner with them to keep the benefit of an adoption-guarantee alive for the Virginia Peninsula community’s citizens and our pets.
