Help Feed The Animals At The Virginia Living Museum

By Susan Smigielski Acker Leave a Comment

The Virginia Living Museum closed more than a month ago due to the pandemic, but they are still caring for the animals and showing the science behind it online.

The animal care and veterinary team is at the museum every day, said Marketing Director Judy Triska.

“We are giving daily accounts of animal life and the care they need,” she said.

While the caring continues for the approximately 1,000 native Virginia animals, the funding from daily admission has not.

“There is no attendance in the museum but we still have to feed the animals none the less,” she said.

To help offset the loss of daily admission, Virginia Living Museum set up the Emergency Animal Support Fund.

Triska said any donation is appreciated. To donate and learn more about their online programs, visit www.thevlm.org or see the article here about area museum offerings.
