There are a couple of ways to enjoy music on the Peninsula in the New Year.
The Hampton History Museum presents Benjamin Blundercheck’s Rock n Roll Chess Riot. It is a chess tournament for all ages and skill levels with live music performed by Benjamin Blundercheck and the Poisoned Pawn. Games will be played in several formats, and there will be cash prizes. The entry fee is $10. Jan 14 12:00- 5:00 p.m. Click here to register.

Sine Nomine and St Mark Lutheran Church will host Beckett Behel in concert on Jan. 29, at 4 p.m.
Behel is a classically trained pianist living in Yorktown. He started playing the piano when he was six years old and studied with Hellen Heifetz. He has performed with various local orchestras as both a soloist and accompanist and played regularly at A Chef’s Kitchen in Williamsburg.
His program will feature selections from the 1950s to the 1980s, soft jazz, selections from the silver screen, and popular classical compositions. Behel is a psychology major at the College of William and Mary.
The program is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted to help support the concert series. A reception following the program will provide an opportunity to meet and talk with the musician. Details 757-898-4395.
