Maria St. Clair has so much fun with her granddaughter that she decided to write a book of short stories about it.
Bambolina Adventures is 12 illustrated short stories based on real events with fairies added. “The fairies make it more magical,” St. Clair said.
The York County author was inspired to write the book because her young granddaughter enjoys reading. “I was impressed that she loves stories that I decided she needed a book of her own,” she said.
The stories are set at Peninsula places such as Bluebird Gap Farm, the beach and library.
In addition to the English edition, Spanish and Italian translations are available.
To celebrate the release of the book, there will be two readings along with crafts at Paperback Ink in Hilton Village on June 8 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and June 11 from 10 a.m.- noon. The fairy-themed event is part of Paperback Ink’s Kids Summer Reading program.
Locally, the book is available at Yorktown Mercantile, The Gallery at York Hall and Barnes and Noble. It can also be ordered on Amazon.
