The Virginia Peninsula free summer outdoor music scene is heating up beginning with BJ Griffin at Mill Point Park on May 27 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Downtown Hampton. Ambassadorzzz will perform May 28 at the Maritime Center from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The concerts continue each week until September 30.
The Tiki Bar Band will perform June 1 at Port Warwick. Summer Concert Series performances are Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. until August 31. Folding chairs, blankets, picnics including beverages are permitted. Food trucks will be onsite and nearby restaurants will be open.

Yorktown’s free concert series returns June 2 with the Uptown Band. Concerts are held at the waterfront from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Concerts are every Thursday, except July 7, until August 11. There will be a dance floor, friendly games of Cornhole, and food from rotating food trucks available for purchase. Nearby restaurants will be open. Guests are permitted to bring blankets, chairs, and small coolers. No tables, umbrellas, or tents are allowed. Fort Monroe will present a special performance by United States Air Force Heritage of America Band will celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the United States Air Force and the 30th Anniversary of Air Combat Command at 7:30 p.m. on June 3 with a rain date of June 4. The show will also include a flyover (weather permitting) by the 1st Fighter Wing, Joint Base Langley-Eustis. The Bay Summer Concerts will continue on Thursdays starting on June 9 through July 28 from 7 p.m. to 8:15 pm. The series features a variety of styles of live music from the region’s talented concert bands and military bands–all performing with the backdrop of the Chesapeake Bay. In the event of inclement weather, the concerts will move to the Fort Monroe Theatre located at 41 Tidball Road. Guests are encouraged to arrive early and bring their whole family along with their lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic snacks/small coolers. No alcohol, umbrellas, or tents are allowed.
