His loved ones were left with what the campaign described as “a profound sadness that is hard to fathom.”
The description paints a picture of a man whose life extended far beyond his work and soccer career, with family and friends now dealing with the sudden loss.
California Workplace Officials Investigate
The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health is investigating the fatal incident.
The investigation is expected to examine the worksite, the trench itself and the circumstances that led to the collapse.
