Boise, Idaho — A deadly stabbing at a Boise house party has led police to four suspects, including two 18-year-olds who were already in custody in connection with a separate house-party shooting.
Isaiah Chavez and Miyah Ford, both 18, are being held at the Ada County Jail in connection with the death of 20-year-old Casey Rayburn, who was fatally stabbed during a party on N. Duncan Lane early Sept. 7, 2026.
According to Boise police, Chavez and Ford are among four suspects connected to Rayburn’s death. Both have been charged with aggravated assault, while investigators continue working to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal attack.
Police Respond to Deadly Boise House Party
Boise police, firefighters and Ada County paramedics were called to the 6000 block of N. Duncan Lane at approximately 1:30 a.m. Sept. 7 after receiving reports that someone had been stabbed.
Police said officers arrived to find people fleeing from a large house party.
“At approximately 1:30 AM on September 7, 2026, Boise Police and Fire, and Ada County Paramedics were called to reports that a person had been stabbed on the 6000 block of N. Duncan Lane in Boise,” the police statement said. “Upon arrival they found people fleeing a large house party and an adult male stab victim on the front porch.”
The victim was later identified as Rayburn.
Despite the emergency response, Rayburn died from the stabbing.
Two Teens Were Already in Custody
Investigators later determined that Chavez and Ford were already being held in connection with a separate violent incident at another Boise house party.
Police said the two had been identified and arrested the previous week in connection with an Aug. 16 incident on the 2200 block of S. Gekeler Lane.
Officers had responded after receiving a report of shots fired during a house party.
“Boise Police identified and arrested Isaiah Chavez and Miyah Ford last week on charges related to a separate incident that occurred on August 16, 2026,” the police statement said.
Officers found evidence that gunfire had occurred during a fight, with damage reported to the home’s ceiling and roof.
“Officers located evidence that shots had been fired during a fight causing damage to the home’s ceiling and roof,” the statement added. “Five suspects were arrested related to the fight, and one suspect was arrested for firing a gun into the ceiling.”
Police later connected Chavez and Ford to the investigation into Rayburn’s death.
Police Say Gang Activity May Have Played a Role
Investigators said evidence from the two incidents points toward a possible connection involving gang activity. According to police, “[e]vidence indicates gang activity was a factor in both incidents.”
Authorities have not publicly provided all the details behind that conclusion, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Police also believe that multiple recordings from the fatal party could help investigators understand what happened before and during the stabbing.

Authorities said there are “multiple videos of the incident that can provide important context to the situation and help move this case forward.”
Police Ask Public to Preserve Video Evidence
Boise police are asking anyone who attended the party or has relevant footage to come forward. Investigators specifically warned people against withholding or destroying potentially important evidence.
Police said “anyone withholding evidence, including additional video evidence of the crime itself, or destroying evidence may also be charged with a crime.”
The department is continuing to review evidence and work to establish the events that led to Rayburn’s death.
Four Suspects Identified in Fatal Stabbing
In addition to Chavez and Ford, police identified the other two suspects in Rayburn’s death as 22-year-old Keigan Blagburn and 18-year-old Tashaun Maldonado.
The investigation remains active as detectives work to determine each suspect’s alleged role in the incident and examine available video and other evidence.
Boise Police Chief Chris Dennison praised the officers and detectives involved in the investigation.
“Gang violence and related activity will be addressed to the full extent of the law. I want to recognize the outstanding work of our patrol officers who initially responded, secured the scene, and gathered critical evidence,” Dennison said in the police statement. “That work, combined with the follow-up investigation by our detectives, helped us identify and locate the suspects. This is a great example of the teamwork and professionalism our officers bring to every investigation.”
