SAN JOSE, Calif. — A San Jose police officer was shot Tuesday afternoon, triggering a major law enforcement response across the area and sending the wounded officer to a hospital.
The shooting was reported at approximately 12:31 p.m. near Lick Avenue and Goodyear Street, according to San Jose police.
Emergency personnel transported the officer to Valley Medical Center for medical treatment. Authorities had not immediately released details about the severity of the officer’s injuries.
