Milwaukee, Wisconsin — A family dispute over social media posts turned deadly when a teenager grabbed a gun from his mother’s car and shot his 30-year-old sister at close range, according to a criminal complaint. More than a year later, the teenager is headed to prison after pleading guilty to first-degree reckless homicide.

Hezile Frison was 15 years old when he shot his sister, Ashley Hudson, outside her apartment on June 16, 2025. Hudson, a mother of four, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Frison, now 16, was sentenced Friday to 20 years in prison followed by 10 years of extended supervision.

Fight Began Over Social Media Posts

According to the criminal complaint, the confrontation began when two of Hudson’s younger sisters went to confront her over social media posts.

One of the sisters’ boyfriends later told investigators that the women were angry with Hudson and had gone to her apartment to confront her. The situation quickly escalated into a physical fight.

Two uninvolved witnesses heard the confrontation outside and began recording the incident on their phones. Investigators said the videos captured two women attacking Hudson, with one of them using a baseball bat.

When Hudson attempted to escape by getting inside a parked car, the attack allegedly continued, with the women continuing to “thrust” at her with the bat.

Hudson eventually got out of the vehicle and pulled out a knife, holding it “as if to keep the batterers at bay.”

Teen Retrieved Gun From Mother’s Car

Frison became involved in the confrontation and obtained a firearm from his mother’s vehicle. According to investigators, he then pointed the gun toward Hudson’s chest.

The recorded footage captured people saying, “Don’t shoot,” immediately before Frison fired. Hudson was reportedly backing away with her hands raised in surrender when her brother shot her at “point-blank range.”

The gunshot proved fatal. Hudson’s death left behind four children and turned what began as a family argument into a deadly confrontation.

Frison Initially Gave Police a Different Account

After the shooting, investigators questioned Frison about what happened. According to the complaint, the teenager falsely claimed that Hudson had “ran up” on him before he opened fire.

Police told him that his sister had died. His reported response was:

“What’s that got to do with me?”

When investigators asked whether he was sorry for what he had done, Frison reportedly replied:

“No, I’m just ready to do the time since I did the crime.”

The case later moved forward with Frison pleading guilty to first-degree reckless homicide.

Other Family Members Also Faced Charges

Frison was not the only member of the family prosecuted following the deadly confrontation. Hudson’s 21-year-old sister, Aaliyah Frison, pleaded guilty to battery and received two years of probation.

Hudson’s mother, 48-year-old Tara Hudson, pleaded guilty to obstructing an officer and was sentenced to one year of probation.

The case therefore resulted in criminal consequences for multiple members of the family following the confrontation that ended with Hudson’s death.

Judge Confronts Teen During Sentencing

During Frison’s sentencing hearing Friday, Milwaukee County Judge David Borowski asked the teenager whether he had anything to say. Frison responded:

“I’m very sorry about this.”

The judge pressed him further.

“That’s it?”

Borowski then described the circumstances surrounding the shooting, pointing to the fighting, yelling and baseball bats before criticizing Frison for approaching his sister and shooting her as she backed away.

He told Frison that even at his age, saying only “I’m sorry about this” was not enough to address the gravity of what had happened.

Frison then said:

“I want to bring her back.”

The judge responded:

“But you can’t bring her back. And your despicable, deplorable, violent, selfish act of killing your own sister … you don’t get to bring her back.”

Teen Will Spend Decades Under Sentence

Frison’s sentence means he will spend 20 years in prison, followed by another 10 years of extended supervision.

The case serves as a tragic example of how a confrontation that began over social media posts escalated into violence and ultimately ended with a mother of four losing her life.

What started as a family dispute became a fatal shooting, leaving Hudson’s children without their mother and sending her teenage brother to prison for decades.
