Anaheim, California — A 34-year-old California man is facing a murder charge after prosecutors allege he fatally stabbed his wife’s alleged lover after finding the man in bed with his wife and their two young children.

Ismael Pinedalopez is accused of stabbing 28-year-old Nicholas Garcia multiple times with a pocketknife inside the family’s Anaheim home on October 24, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. Prosecutors said the couple’s 2-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son were in the bed during the attack.

Garcia died at the scene from his injuries. Pinedalopez’s wife and the children were not physically harmed, authorities said.

The case has raised concerns about the impact of domestic violence on children, particularly when a violent incident unfolds inside their own home.

What Happened Inside the Anaheim Home?

According to prosecutors, Pinedalopez allegedly returned home early from work and discovered Garcia in the bedroom with his wife. Garcia was reportedly wearing underwear, and the couple’s two young children were also in the bed.

Authorities allege that Pinedalopez then attacked Garcia with a pocketknife, stabbing him multiple times.

Garcia suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Investigators have not publicly detailed every moment leading up to the stabbing, but prosecutors have outlined the circumstances in announcing the criminal charges.

The allegations remain part of an ongoing criminal case, and Pinedalopez is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Man Arrested and Charged With Murder

Pinedalopez was arrested at the scene and charged with one felony count of murder, along with a felony enhancement alleging personal use of a weapon, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.

He was arraigned on Tuesday, prosecutors said.

If convicted on all charges, Pinedalopez could face 26 years to life in state prison. The potential sentence reflects the seriousness of the murder charge and the additional allegation involving the weapon.

The case will proceed through the criminal justice system, where prosecutors must establish the allegations against him in court.

Authorities have not reported physical injuries to Pinedalopez’s wife or the two children. However, the children’s presence during the alleged attack has drawn particular attention to the circumstances surrounding the incident.

District Attorney Responds to the Alleged Attack

Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer addressed the case in a statement, emphasizing the consequences of violence for children who witness it.

“Violence is never the answer, and it is truly heartbreaking that these young children had to witness their father commit such a horrific act of brutality in their own home,” Spitzer said.

The statement underscored the district attorney’s concerns about children being exposed to violence in a place where they should feel safe.

Although the wife and children were reportedly not physically injured, witnessing a violent incident can be deeply distressing for young children. Their presence during the alleged stabbing remains one of the most troubling details described by prosecutors.

Another California Case Involved Alleged Infidelity

The Anaheim case follows another California murder prosecution involving allegations of suspected infidelity.

Former Glendale firefighter Andrew Jimenez was accused of killing his wife, Mayra Lopez Jimenez, with an ax at their North Hollywood home in January.

According to previous statements from Jimenez’s attorney, Jose Romero, investigators had discovered a diary that allegedly indicated infidelity.

“Our office is currently in contact with law enforcement regarding a diary of the decedent, apparently read moments before the homicide, that verified infidelity by the decedent,” Romero previously told The Post.

Investigators believe Lopez Jimenez was struck repeatedly with the ax, according to the report.

Jimenez was charged with one count of murder, along with an allegation that he used an ax as a deadly weapon. If convicted, he also faces a potential sentence of 26 years to life in state prison.

The two cases involve separate investigations and defendants. Allegations in either case must be established through the legal process.

What Happens Next in the Anaheim Murder Case?

Pinedalopez now faces a serious criminal prosecution over Garcia’s death. The case is expected to focus on the circumstances of the alleged stabbing, the evidence gathered by investigators and the murder charge filed by prosecutors.

The possible sentence of 26 years to life represents the potential consequences if Pinedalopez is convicted on all charges. It is not a sentence that has already been imposed.

For the couple’s two young children, the alleged incident took place in their own home and reportedly unfolded while they were in bed. Their mother and the children were not physically harmed, according to authorities.

As the case moves forward, additional court proceedings may provide further information about the evidence and the circumstances surrounding Garcia’s death.
