Smyrna, Georgia — An 18-year-old Georgia man was arrested after he allegedly dropped a plastic container containing the dismembered torso of a woman while walking through an apartment complex, authorities said.
Kingston Lammar Bradley was taken into custody Wednesday after police responded to a missing-person call at the Park Valley apartment complex in Smyrna, according to the Smyrna Police Department.
The disturbing discovery reportedly unfolded after a witness noticed Bradley carrying a large plastic container through an open area of the complex.
Witness Allegedly Watched Teen Carry Container
According to a warrant obtained by Fox 5 Atlanta, a witness reportedly saw Bradley carrying the plastic container around the apartment complex for nearly 30 minutes Wednesday evening.
The witness allegedly continued watching as Bradley moved through the property with the container.
Investigators said Bradley appeared to realize that someone was observing him. At that point, he allegedly dropped the container on a dirt path and ran toward a nearby apartment unit.
Officers responding to the scene then examined the abandoned container. What they allegedly found inside led to Bradley’s arrest.
Police Discover Dismembered Torso
According to reports citing court documents, officers opened the plastic container and discovered the dismembered torso of an unidentified woman.
Authorities have not publicly identified the woman or released additional details about her identity. The discovery prompted investigators to search Bradley’s nearby apartment as part of the investigation.
That search reportedly uncovered several items and areas that investigators considered significant.
Search of Apartment Reveals Blood and Cleaning Supplies
According to the arrest warrant, investigators allegedly found several areas containing what appeared to be blood, along with cleaning equipment and other items inside Bradley’s residence.
The reported evidence included a mop, a bucket containing water, a carpet cleaner and a strong odor of bleach. Investigators also allegedly discovered a large saw with what appeared to be blood on it.
The combination of those findings has become a central part of the investigation, although authorities have not publicly explained how each item may be connected to the death.
Police have also not released a possible motive.
Teen Faces Felony Charge
Bradley was arrested Wednesday and booked into custody. Court records show he is being held without bond on a felony charge of concealing the death of another person.
The charge relates to the alleged handling and concealment of the remains, while the broader investigation into the woman’s death remains ongoing. Authorities have not announced a murder charge against Bradley based on the information currently available.
